The African Cotton and Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF) is a non-profit making regional industry/trade promoting body established in June 2005 by the Cotton, Textile and Apparel sectors from Eastern and Southern Africa. Its membership covers the COMESA, SADC and the EAC trading blocks, and includes National allied Associations from 25 African countries. ACTIF’s mission is to develop and successfully deliver services that enhance our members Competitiveness in the world market.

Our core services include: Advocacy Activities to address key policy issues impacting regional trade and International Trade; Enhancing Competitiveness of our members by promoting knowledge transfer, New Investment and technology uprades; Trade Linkages by promoting a regional supply chain, B2B activities and developing linkages with key markets including USA, EU, India, China and Information Service by providing a platform for exchange of information, Sharing of market data, country profiles and focussed sector reports.

Our flagship annual event is Origin Africa whose objective is to put Africa on the map as a preferred sourcing continent, and to demonstrate to international buyers and industry leaders that creativity and innovation are an integral part of Africa’s future.

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is the United States’ leading trade association representing apparel, footwear, and other sewn products companies, and their suppliers, which compete in the global market. AAFA's mission is to promote and enhance its members' competitiveness, productivity, and profitability in the global market by minimizing regulatory, legal, commercial, political, and trade restraints. AAFA seeks to achieve this mission by representing the points of view and pursuing the concerns of AAFA members before the public and all branches of government to advance the association's legislative, international trade, and regulatory objectives.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (AmCham) is a non-profit organisation that represents roughly 1,800 companies and individuals doing business in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia Pacific, and around the globe. AmCham is one of the most dynamic and influential business organisations in the Asia-Pacific region. The Chamber's "business" for 45 years has been to promote the US - China trade and Hong Kong as Asia’s premier international business and financial center. AmCham is committed to maintaining and strengthening Hong Kong's status as "Asia's World City".

Incorporated in 1978, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) is a non-profit making organisation set up for the purpose of promotion of apparel trade and commerce. It has more than 7000 members. An ISO 9000 and SA 8000 company, AEPC is the largest Council in India which assists Government in formulating policy with regard to export of apparel. Sponsored by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The prime activity is export promotion through more than 25 international events in a year through fairs, BSMs, delegations and specialized events. AEPC runs 125 Apparel Training & Design Centres (ATDC). AEPC also runs Institutes of Apparel Management (IAM) for higher education, complements flagships programmes of the Ministry – DISHA and runs ambitious programmes like Knitwear Technology Mission (KTM).

Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) was established on 14 June 1974. API is the largest association in the textile industry in Indonesia. Its members range from up-stream to down-stream of the industry from man-made fiber manufacturers, spinners, weavers up to garment makers and made-up articles manufacturers. 1,114 companies, listed as API’s members, are located in Java and Bali. Besides its headquarter in Jakarta, API had also six (6) province district committees in Greater Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java and Bali.

Led by Mr. Ade Sudrajat, API facilitates the government-industry relationship, represents members' interests and develops partnership with related associations domestically and internationally.

The Association of the Austrian Clothing Industry is an independent organisation within the Austrian Economic Chamber.

The Association acts on behalf of the interests of its member in contact with national and EU authorities, within the Austrian Economic Chamber, versus unions, up-and down-stream parts of the textile chain and other national and international professional associations and provides a lot of useful services for its members.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is the apex trade body that represents the export oriented woven, knit and sweater garment manufacturers and exporters of the country. The fundamental objective of BGMEA is to establish a healthy business environment for a close and mutually beneficial relationship between the manufacturers, exporters and importers in the process ensuring a steady growth in the foreign exchange earnings of the country. BGMEA plays a very strong role to lead the industry, to protect and uphold the interest of the industry.

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) was established in 1996 as a national trade body to represent solely the largest export earning sector of Bangladesh. Now it is an association of about 1700 members.

To protect the interest of the sector
Export promotion and market development
To enhance social compliance and productivity improvement of the sector
To maintain effective networking with members, government, national and international bodies

商務社會責任國際協會(BSR)1992年在美國舊金山成立,是第一家專門從事企業社會責任研究與項目開發的非盈利商務協會。

中國紡織品進出口商會成立於1988年,是中國紡織服裝進出口行業最大的全國性中介組織。截至20085月,共有會員逾萬家,遍及全國31個省、市和自治區,從事各種紡織纖維、紗線、面料、服裝、家用紡織品、產業紡織品及輔料的生產和進出口業務,進出口額占中國紡織服裝進出口總額的70%左右。

China-Europe Textile Alliance (C.E.T.A.) In February 2005, the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, the Swiss Textile Federation and the Federal Association of the Austrian Textile Industry put in place a project known as the China-Europe Textile Alliance (C.E.T.A.) under the aegis of GIC Shanghai. Later the Textile Industries from France, the Spanish Cotton System Textile Industry Association and the Federation of Finnish Textile and Clothing Industries also became active members of C.E.T.A. The aim of the C.E.T.A. project is to familiarize European companies in the textile and garments industry with the working practices of the Chinese textile industry, the Chinese production capacity, the distribution structure of the Chinese market and the channels for entering the market, etc.

The China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) is a national industry association whose mandate is to promote industry development and enhance collaboration wiht textile industries around the world. It joins hands with partners along the textile supply chain and find solutions to the challenges we are facing, which will in turn promote the sustainable and healthy development of the global textile industry.
制衣業訓練局乃依據工業訓練(制衣業)條例於香港成立的非牟利組織,其主要職能是為制衣業提供訓練課程,為訓練課程設立及維持工業訓練中心,協助完成訓練課程的人就業及就征款率作出建議。

Confederation of Garment Exporters of the Philippines (CONGEP) was organised in 1992 to serve as the voice of the Philippine apparel industry. It has the following objectives: To implement and promote the garment industry's technological, educational, socio-economic and export development projects enhancing the industry's welfare and interest; To promote the most effective relationship, coordination and understanding between the Confederation and all instrumentalities and agencies of the government, labor and other sectors of business and industry; To foster better relationship, coordination and understanding between and among its members; To maintain the highest ethical standards between and among its members. To date, the membership of CONGEP represents more than 40% of the country's total FOB performance in apparel.

CONGEP also represents Philippines garments and textile industry in the ASEAN Federation of Textile Manufacturers (AFTEX).

Fashion Commerce in Finland is a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Members of the association include retail, wholesale and other companies trading in apparel, shoe and other fashion related fields.

The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America is the largest footwear trade association in the United States. The association accounts for approximately 80% of all footwear sales in the U.S., representing the industry’s leading retailers, brands and buying agents. Its services include lobbying and advocacy for industry causes, educational programs and trade publications.

The Foreign Trade Association (FTA) is Europe’s premier association for trade policy and global supply chains. FTA brings together over 1,200 retailers, importers, brand companies, and national associations to improve the political and legal framework for trade. Over time, the scope of FTA has developed. In 2003, the FTA created the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) -to provide companies with a practical and efficient system to improve social compliance in global supply chains- and in 2014 will launch the Business Environmental Performance Initiative (BEPI), to support members committed to improving environmental production conditions in their supply chain.

Established since 1996, Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) is the apex trade body that represents the export-oriented garment and shoes industry in Cambodia. All the industry-related sub-contracting factories are also under the umbrella of GMAC.

GMAC currently represents over 400 garment and footwear factories which totally employ roughly 500,000 workers mainly disadvantaged and poverty stricken females from rural provinces.

The principal objective of GMAC is to establish a conducive and healthy business environment for the industries through our regular activities of representation and advocacy, capacity building, information sharing and dissemination, networking, market linkage, trade promotion, support for market access and many more.

GMAC is headed by a 25-member Executive Council elected from amongst its members biannually during its General Assembly. The Executive Council provides advice on strategies and policy development relevant to sustainability and growth of the industry. Day-to-day operations are carried out by a professional team of secretariat staff.

Global Apparel, Footwear and Textile Initiative (GAFTI) is an initiative to bring retailers, brands, mills and factories together to improve efficiencies and set standards globally. GAFTI’s goal is to reduce complexity and remove costs from common industry practices and prevent increased scrutiny from press and governments, which could lead to increased regulation. Ultimately, the end customers of our “service” include all parties involved in the development, manufacture and distribution of apparel, textiles and footwear, government agencies, and of course consumers.

香港制衣同業協進會(HKAS) represents small and medium-sized companies involved in the apparel industry, and aims to strengthen manpower resources adn information exchanges, safeguard rights, upgrade quality, facilitate the sharing of benefits and stimulate business opportunities.

香港紡織商會會員以原「國產紡織品經銷同業」成員為基礎,隨著國家政策和經濟形勢的發展,會員結構有所調整,範圍不斷擴大。成立初期會員逾千家,現經常參與活動的有數百家/人,包括香港及內地紡織、印染、制衣、家紡、零售等眾多具規模的知名企業。

本會會員與內地的關系源遠流長,不少在祖國改革開放剛起步時,便已率先回內地投資設廠,同時又熱心參與祖國的經濟建設和兩地的社會公益活動。

The International Apparel Federation (IAF) is the world’s leading federation for apparel manufacturers, their associations, apparel retailers and the supporting industry. IAF aims to develop business contacts which foster dialogue and knowledge exchange between individuals active in the global fashion industry.

The annual World Fashion Convention, organised by IAF, is one of the means to create a worldwide network. Professionals from all over the world meet to discuss actual developments in the fashion chain. The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau has been in Hong Kong for more than 16 years and has grown to become one of the most active Chambers in promotional, economical and business activities. The Italian Chamber is also active in Macao.
With a growing number of associates and members, the Chamber has been improving its services and network to facilitate the trade between Italy Hong Kong and China together with the services to the international business community.

Dutch Clothing & Knitting Industry Association (MODINT) is the Dutch trade association for fashion, interior design, carpets and textiles, an association with a clear mission.
The main task of MODINT is to strengthen the competitive power of the members and sectors they represent by means of a wide-ranging package of interest promotion and services, with the focus on content and quality. It goes without saying that MODINT continues to make every effort to expand our membership, in order to increase support and create a stronger competitive position.
MODINT is active in a great many fields to ensure that its members' interests are protected. These interests often converge in our active member groups, sections and working groups, which can count on the support of a professional organization. Most of MODINT's business services are incorporated into MODINT BV, in which the Consultancy and Credit Management activities play a major role.
The MODINT membership totals over 850 companies, active in the production of and trade in clothing, fashion accessories and (interior) textiles. They generate a joint annual turnover of EUR 8 billion, of which EUR 3,5 billion on export markets.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is an industry-wide group of over 60 leading apparel and footwear brands, retailers, suppliers, nonprofits, and NGOs working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel and footwear products around the world.
The focus of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition is The Higg Index that measures the environmental performance of apparel products. Future versions will include footwear products and measure social performance.

時裝企業持續發展聯盟由多家對行業本身有強烈社會責任感的香港時裝公司所成立,旨在宣傳及推廣如何把可持續發展、以及環境保護的理念應用到時裝供應鏈的各個過程中。隨著全球暖化,空氣及水質污染正嚴重威脅全球,再加上日益惡化的廢料處理問題,時裝企業持續發展聯盟將致力創造一個能不斷改善紡織、以及時裝業供應鏈內各個可持續發展制作過程的平台,從而大大減低行業對環境構成的不良影響。

紡拓會成立於19751125日,為配合國內紡織業發展需要,逐步擴大業務範圍,陸續增加市場拓銷、設計研發、流行信息分析、產業電子化、人才培訓、經貿商情搜集研析、機能性紡品驗證、刊物發行、產地證明書簽發及產業服務等業務。近年來更不斷提升服務質量,以流行性與機能性創新紡織品重新定位台灣紡品,獲得全球買主的注目與熱烈回響,成功地確立台灣為亞洲「機能性與流行性」並重的創新紡織品的采購中心。

The Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFf) was formed through a collation of the textile and garment associations in 1981. Singapore’s textile and garment industry has since then transformed from a manufacturing base to be a regional fashion, marketing and sourcing hub. TaFf takes an active role in nurturing the next generation of talents, facilitate marketing and exportation of textiles and apparels to the world, promote the betterment of business practices through the adoption of advanced technology. We encourage participation in research, development, innovation and other enhancement activity or social projects which add value to the industry.

The Textile Council of Hong Kong, as a body representing all major textile associations, acts as a voice for the textile industry on matters that affect the industry. Such matters mainly concern with commercial policies affecting Hong Kong's textiles exports such as quotas and anti-dumping actions, Hong Kong's textile export controls system, the employment ordinance, environmental rules and regulations, taxation and tariff etc. It also undertakes by itself or jointly with other organizations study missions, projects, seminars and other activities.

The Thai Garment Manufacturers Association (TGMA) was founded in 15 August 1973 to promote and support the Thai garment industry in manufacturing, trading and other related activities.

TGMA is the wind beneath Thailand's garment industry and the engines that have driven the industry to constantly move forward. TGMA not only has provided the solutions to problems and obstacles of the industry, but also created many useful and fruitful projects while giving continuous support and development to Thai garment and apparel entrepreneurs for more than 40 years.

From the support and promotion of TGMA during the past years, the Fashion Product Development Center (FPDC) was established to act as a coach and consultant for the members to move forward with stronger pace and learn how to stand firmly on their own. In addition, the Overseas Trade and Investment Center (OTIC) was also founded to nurture the investment in foreign countries, from the start-up to established business, by giving advice and information, as well as providing site visit studies. These two centers are the important tools that allow Thai garment and apparel entrepreneurs to step into the AEC with a strong and sustainable future.

TGMA is managed by the President and the Board of Directors, who are elected by members on a two-year term basis.

The Union des Industries Textiles (The Union of Textile Industries) is a French professional association that unites the professional employers' groups of the industry:
Professional federations and branches: cotton, wool, linen, cordage and nets, mesh, silk, lace and embroidery, artificial and synthetic textiles, finishing... ; or regions: Aisne, Alsace, Champagne, Lorraine, South-Pyrenees, North, Normandy, Picardy, Rhone-Alps.
Representing the majority of the 1000 textile companies active in France, the UIT fulfils the three following objectives:

- to support its members in their development : innovation, RD, international development, acces to finance...;
- to define the lobbying strategy for the profession and to be the spokesman for the industry to the decision makers for all subjects of common interest: taxation, research and development, social rights, sales and marketing policy, exports and international development, industrial strategy, protection against counterfeiting...;
- to improve professionnal skills within companies: since 1994, 21000 young people have benefited from combined work/study contracts and more than 320 000 young trainees from continuing training.

The United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) represents the fashion industry: textile and apparel brands, retailers, importers, and wholesalers based in the US and doing business globally. Founded in 1989 as the United States Association of Importers of Textiles & Apparel with the goal of eliminating the global apparel quota system, USFIA now works to eliminate the tariff and non-tariff barriers that impede the industry’s ability to trade freely and create economic opportunities in the US and abroad. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., USFIA is the most respected voice for the fashion industry in front of the US government as well as international governments and stakeholders. With constant, two-way communication, USFIA staff and counsel serve as the eyes and ears of our members in Washington and around the world, enabling them to stay ahead of the regulatory challenges of today and tomorrow. Through our publications, educational events, and networking opportunities, USFIA also connects with key stakeholders across the value chain including the US and International service providers, suppliers, and industry groups.
